About the author

Financial performance expert, RWE IT, Phd Cand.

Based in Essen, Germany I am currently pursuing my interests in management and research. Professionally, I’m an expert for corporate controlling at the RWE IT - the IT service provider for the RWE Corporation. RWE is the leading utility company in Germany. Before my time at RWE IT I was with Deutsche Telekom in Bonn, where I worked as financial controller in the group Performance Management and as internal Consultant in the Group Financial Performance. In summer 2010 I joined the PhD School of the Open University of the Netherlands in Heerlen. My research interest is to find out how companies can be best managed with KPIs. Why are some organizations able to use KPIs more effectively then others. What are the success factors of management with KPIs. For that reason I develop a theoretical framework derived from academic literature and gather empirical evidence to find out if this framework is suitable to explain corporate performance variances.
